Amazon is set to commence operations this month at the Distribution Center (Cedis) it has constructed in Tijuana, Baja California, situated within the Real Estate Management and Services Group (RMSG) industrial park. This Cedis aims to provide same-day package delivery in Tijuana and next-day service in areas such as Mexicali, Tecate, Ensenada, and Playas de Rosarito. With the inauguration of this 32,000-square-meter facility, the company will open its ninth Cedis in Mexico, marking its second in the northern part of the country. The venture involves an investment of 21 million dollars and is expected to generate 250 jobs. Karla Patricia Ruiz Macfarland, the Mayor of Tijuana, highlighted in a statement that the local administration played a supportive role in the procedural management, facilitating the establishment of this branch, which is poised to stimulate economic rejuvenation. In addition, the company plans to create 3,000 jobs in Germany.

Amazon intends to open eight warehouses across Germany, promising to establish 3,000 positions by 2022 in an effort to "satisfy customer demands and broaden the product assortment." Four expansive warehouses will be designated for storing, packaging, and dispatching goods, while three others will focus on distribution. The eighth facility is planned as a sorting center.

These centers will span several regions, from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the northeast to Bavaria in the south, and including Hesse in the center, as disclosed in a statement. These fresh opportunities will be in addition to the 3,000 roles filled over the past 12 months, bringing the total workforce in Germany to 28,000 by year's end, all distributed across 70 logistics centers.
