Aptiv Inaugurates Its Sixth Manufacturing Plant in Tamaulipas

The North American company, Aptiv, has recently inaugurated its sixth manufacturing plant in Tamaulipas, specifically located in Nuevo Laredo. This new facility represents a substantial investment of $52.3 million and provides employment opportunities for 2,517 people in the border area. 

During the event, Arturo Álvarez, President of Aptiv in Latin America and also the head of EDS, highlighted the projected annual production of approximately 2.47 million units from this new plant. These units will be assembled into at least 1.10 million highly electrified vehicles targeting the North American market. 

The company currently employs over 75,000 individuals in Mexico out of their 190,000 employees worldwide. It is important to note that 55% of the workforce in Mexico consists of women, exemplifying Aptiv's commitment to diversity and inclusion by actively attracting, developing, and retaining female talent.
