Balluff, a leading industrial process automation company from Germany, has commenced the construction of an intelligent plant located in the Santa Fe Tecnopark in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The new plant, with a total investment of 50 million euros, is set to produce sensors, accessories, network systems, and identification solutions (RFID) for the automotive and industrial 4.0 sectors.

Balluff expects the factory to begin operations by August 2023 and generate 700 new jobs with an area of 15,000 square meters. However, in its first phase, the plant will occupy an area of 5.7 thousand square meters.

The Santa Fe Tecnopark is an industrial complex with a gross leasable area of almost 30.7 thousand square meters and more than 20.8 thousand square meters of construction. Balluff will be one of the tenants of the park, along with companies such as Donaldson, E&H Precision de México, and Econ Saex, according to SiiLA Market Analytics.

Balluff's investment in Aguascalientes will contribute to the state's industrial competitiveness. Currently, companies from 33 countries in Europe, America, and Asia are investing in Aguascalientes, including 32 German companies that generate over 6,000 jobs, according to Governor María Teresa Jiménez Esquivel.

Frank Nonnenmann, the director of Balluff, stated during the inauguration of the new plant that the support of the Aguascalientes government was essential for the company's investment. Nonnenmann expressed confidence in the region's potential for growth, primarily due to the quality of the workforce and the factory's location.

Last year, the Santa Fe Tecnopark registered eight industrial buildings and an availability rate of less than 7%, according to SiiLA Market Analytics.
