Bosch Mexico has announced plans to invest $146 million in expanding the production capacity of its plant in the AeroTech Industrial Park in Queretaro. The German multinational engineering and technology company will nearly double the space it currently occupies, with its plant dedicated to manufacturing automotive technology being a Class A property with over 17,200 square meters of gross leasable area, according to SiiLA Market Analytics.

Bosch's expansion plan includes installing "new high-tech production lines" and a warehouse of almost 12,000 square meters. This move will not only increase the plant's gross profitable area, but it will also require an increase in the workforce. Currently employing 299 people, Bosch will be adding 400 new skilled jobs to the plant.

The Queretaro plant has been manufacturing mobility solutions, such as electronic power steering (EPS), since its opening in 2017. This technology has driver assistance functions and is a crucial device for road safety, according to the company.

Queretaro's Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, stated that Bosch Mexico is one of 192 German companies investing in the state. Furthermore, SiiLA Market Analytics data indicates that about 13% of the tenants in class A and B industrial spaces in Queretaro are of German origin. The State Government notes that "German investments are mainly focused on the wholesale trade of machinery and manufacturing of parts for vehicles, as well as equipment for the manufacturing industry, such as Bosch does."
