The CEO of Cinemex, Rogelio Vélez, enthusiastically announced the reopening of 153 cinema complexes in Mexico on Wednesday, May 26th. During an interview with Ciro Gómez Leyva on Radio Fórmula, Vélez revealed that these complexes would be located in 28 states across the country, although the exact details would be announced tomorrow.
It was also reported that online ticket sales would commence on the same day.
Vélez emphasized that the decision to reopen was based on a significant improvement in conditions in the selected locations, taking into account the traffic light system and the guidelines provided by local authorities. As part of this reopening, Cinemex will kick off with the premiere of "Cruella," one of the most anticipated movies of the year. According to Vélez, this reopening will further strengthen Cinemex's position, given their solid 25-year track record in the entertainment industry.
The CEO underscored that the COVID-19 pandemic has compelled all establishments to implement comprehensive sanitary measures to mitigate the spread of the virus. "We have had to restructure our operations, but now we return as a more solid and robust company, backed by our 25 years of experience in the entertainment industry.
