The renowned French sports goods brand, Decathlon, is celebrating the opening of its latest store in Paseo Acoxpa, south of Mexico City. "Today, we mark a milestone for Decathlon Mexico. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, we are proud to introduce this new space where sports enthusiasts can find everything they need to practice their favorite disciplines," stated Miguel Ángel Sánchez Candón, CEO of Decathlon Mexico.
Eduardo Camargo, the director of Decathlon Acoxpa, expressed confidence in achieving their goals and is committed to making sports more accessible to the residents of Tlalpan.
Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Asvazadourian, the French Ambassador to Mexico, praised Decathlon's ongoing efforts to raise the standard of sports practices globally. The Mayor of Tlalpan, Alfa Eliana González Magallanes, commented on the alignment of objectives between the municipality and Decathlon, emphasizing that sports are essential for promoting a healthy lifestyle within the community.
Visitors to the new store in Paseo Acoxpa will have the opportunity to explore more than 65 sports and choose from over 6,000 sports items, available both in the physical store and online.
Decathlon in Mexico: A Brief Overview Since its arrival in Mexico five years ago, starting with its first store in Querétaro, Decathlon has experienced steady growth. The brand now boasts 13 outlets in key cities like Mérida, Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Torreón, Guadalajara, and the Valley of Mexico, employing a total of 564 individuals. Furthermore, it's worth noting that Decathlon supports local production by working closely with Mexican suppliers. These suppliers cater not only to the national market but also to countries such as Colombia, Uruguay, and Chile.
