Yanfeng Seating, a Chinese automotive seat manufacturer, inaugurated its second plant in Nuevo León, Mexico this week. The new facility, which was built with a $23 million investment, has the capacity to produce up to 800,000 sets of automotive seats for customers worldwide and will create 800 jobs.

This inauguration is part of Yanfeng Seating's expansion project, and in 2024, the company plans to open a third plant in Mexico. With more than 50 plants globally, the Monterrey Technology Park plant is one of Yanfeng Seating's most competitive facilities.

Yanfeng Seating is also present in the markets of Aguascalientes, Coahuila, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí. According to SiiLA Market Analytics, the automotive seat set manufacturer occupies a Class A industrial building of more than 26.2 thousand square meters. In addition to the nine properties it already had, this property covers more than 156 thousand square meters.

In 2019, Yanfeng Seating entered the Aguascalientes market, and in 2020, it began operations at a second property in Monterrey. During the following year, the company leased six industrial warehouses, one in San Luis Potosí and five in Coahuila. Last year, it added two more, one in San Luis Potosí and another in Monterrey.

Yanfeng Seating's investment in Nuevo León contributes to the economic growth of the region. According to Iván Rivas, Secretary of Economy of the State of Nuevo León, last year, 23 new investment projects in the automotive sector were confirmed in Nuevo León, "representing an investment of $1,064 million and the creation of 7,292 new jobs."
