Quanta Computer México, the leading manufacturer of components for electric vehicles, is investing $130 million to expand its factory in Nuevo León.

The goal is to double the plant's size and increase its workforce to 2,000 employees by the year's end. As part of this initiative, Quanta Computer México is relocating a portion of its production from Shanghai and Taiwan to Nuevo León, demonstrating their commitment to nearshoring and proximity to key customers in the United States.

Specializing in electronic manufacturing for sophisticated vehicle control devices, Quanta Computer México has experienced remarkable growth. In just seven months, their workforce has expanded from zero to 1,400 employees, with plans to reach 2,000 by the end of the calendar year.

The company is actively recruiting engineers to meet the critical demand for technical expertise. The current plant, situated in the Avante Industrial Park, started with an area of 227,000 square feet (21,088.9 square meters). However, the expansion project aims to reach a spacious half-million square feet (46,451.52 square meters) by year-end, significantly increasing production capacity. Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda expressed strong support for Quanta Computer México's expansion, emphasizing the region's commitment to ensuring sufficient water supply.

The governor assured the company of ample water resources, guaranteeing availability starting in August. Quanta Computer México's plant expansion not only signifies economic growth for Nuevo León but also showcases the region's dedication to supporting the manufacturing industry and attracting investments in high-tech sectors.
