It's no secret that e-commerce in Mexico still has immense growth potential, and Etsy is determined to be part of this revenue party.
The numbers speak for themselves. According to Statista, it is estimated that there will be 64 million e-commerce users by the end of 2022, and this figure is expected to reach 77.9 million by 2025. The increasing number of people engaging in online shopping translates into billions of dollars in revenue that numerous local and international companies are eager to capture.
In the midst of this competition, platforms like Amazon and
Mercado Libre now face a new contender as Etsy seeks to boost its growth in the country by opening offices in Mexico. After a year of establishing a regional presence, Etsy has announced the opening of its offices in Mexico City.
According to Etsy's CEO, Josh Silverman, the company currently has a team of nearly 130 employees in the country, and the new offices are aimed at reaffirming their commitment and optimizing their work processes to deliver an enhanced user experience for Mexican customers.
