With an investment of $80 million, Fibra Upsite has inaugurated an industrial park in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, as part of its expansion plan in the northern region of Mexico. The increased demand for these spaces, due to supply chain reconfiguration and nearshoring, has driven this development.
The industrial park will consist of six buildings, with a total construction area of approximately 1.3 million square feet or 120,445 square meters (m2). According to the statement from the Real Estate Investment Trust, five of them are already pre-leased.
Rodolfo Balmaceda, CEO and President of the Technical Committee of Fibra Upsite, highlighted that the companies attracted to this industrial park in Chihuahua so far are multinational corporations from the United States, Germany, and Mexico, operating in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and e-commerce sectors.
The Governor of Chihuahua, Maru Campos, attended the inauguration of the Upsite Complex, which will generate 1,100 direct jobs. She also emphasized that this project will stimulate additional investments from companies such as Saertex and Hubbell, which will soon begin operations in the state.
Ciudad Juárez has become the leading city in Mexico in terms of employment, thanks to the international confidence in establishing operations on the border.
