This week, Fives Group announced its plans to invest $10 million in the development of the first stage of a state-of-the-art engineering center in the industrial submarket of Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. The facilities will be staffed by personnel specialized in mechanical design and different branches of engineering, such as mechatronics, control, processes, and robotics.

The new plant of the French company specializing in Industry 4.0 will occupy a projected area of 5,000 square meters. With this investment, Fives Group hopes to generate 160 direct jobs and develop projects related to the automotive and logistics industries.

During the press conference, Fives Group's President and CEO, Frederic Sanchez, expressed that "Mexico presents great industrial opportunities, thanks to its solid industrial infrastructure, the quality of its workforce, and the excellent level of its engineers."

The French Ambassador to Mexico, Jean-Pierre Asvazadourian, highlighted that "French direct investments in Mexico total more than $9.5 billion" and that French companies "choose Mexico for long-term investment."

Fives Group has had a presence in Ramos Arizpe since the third quarter of last year. According to SiiLA Market Analytics, the manufacturer occupies a gross leasable area (GLA) of 5,000 square meters in the VYNMSA Ramos Arizpe I Industrial Park. This is a Class A facility with access to the old highway to Monclova.

Ramos Arizpe has a strong presence in the vehicle and parts industry. According to SiiLA, this productive sector covers 51% of the square meters occupied in the submarket. After automotive companies, occupancy is led by capital goods and electronics companies.

Fives Group has more than 8,000 employees in 30 countries. The company specializes in designing and manufacturing machines, process equipment, and production lines to serve numerous industrial sectors, including aerospace, aluminum, automotive, cement and minerals, logistics, oil and gas, chemicals and petrochemicals, and steel.
