Grupo Bimbo is making a significant contribution to sustainable farming practices in Mexico through its regenerative agriculture program. The company's goal is to become a carbon-neutral company by 2050, with all its ingredients sourced from regenerative agriculture.

The program, developed in collaboration with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), provides farmers with the tools and knowledge to adopt regenerative agriculture practices. These practices, including minimal tillage, crop rotation, and organic waste reuse, help restore soil health, capture carbon, and build resilient ecosystems.

The program involves the participation of 1,600 maize and wheat producers from Jalisco, Sonora, and Sinaloa, ranging from small to large-scale farmers. Participating farmers benefit from reduced input costs, saving between 4,000 and 5,000 pesos per hectare, and they become part of a value chain that ensures the security of their harvests.
