Grupo Coppel Plans to Invest 10 Billion Pesos in Mexico by 2022

After overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, Grupo Coppel plans to make investments totaling 10 billion pesos in Mexico this year. 

The projection for 2022 includes the opening of 70 new stores, each of which will generate employment for 35 people, as well as over 100 store renovations. During the period 2022-2024, the company plans to invest 40,783 million pesos in the country, thus boosting the local economy. 

This year, the company celebrates its 80th anniversary. Currently, Grupo Coppel has 1,670 stores and employs 114,000 people, making it the seventh largest employer in Mexico. 

Coppel has a customer base of 13 million active customers and a database that reaches 45 million. As part of its projections for 2022, the company expects to affiliate nearly 100,000 new customers each month.
