Dutch retailer HEMA expands its presence in Mexico with three new store openings, aiming to reach 200 stores in the country by 2025.

Following the opening of its first stores in Artz Pedregal and Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport in late 2020, the Dutch chain HEMA has recently opened three new stores. HEMA, headquartered in Amsterdam, boasts nearly 100 years of history and offers a wide range of products for the home, stationery, personal care, toys, and decor items, among others. Mexico marks its 12th market entry.
The most recent opening took place on Friday, June 4th, at Galerías Atizapán, one of the shopping centers monitored by SiiLA Mexico. This mall boasts over 80,000 square meters of leasable space with an occupancy rate above 98% as of the first quarter of 2021.
The new HEMA branch covers more than 180 square meters and joins the existing seven operational stores, in addition to its online store launched in August 2020.According to a press release, the company plans to reach 200 stores by 2025.
