It has been almost two years since IKEA announced its arrival in Mexico back in May 2019. Originally scheduled for opening last fall but delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Swedish company is finally set to inaugurate its first store in Mexico City on April 8th.

The store is spread across three floors and will offer over 5,300 items. Within the space, there are small apartments that showcase the furniture in realistic settings. Located within the Encuentro Oceanía shopping center, just five minutes away from the Mexico City International Airport, the IKEA store covers an area of 23,500 square meters.

To ensure social distancing measures during the pandemic, visitors will need to make a reservation through the store's website or mobile app to schedule their visit starting from April 1st. This highly anticipated opening marks IKEA's entry into the Mexican market, providing consumers with access to its wide range of home furnishing products.
