Jabil carried out the groundbreaking ceremony for its third production facility in the city of Chihuahua, the fifth in the state.
To construct this property, the electronics company will invest $336 million.
Out of this total amount, $106 million will be allocated for infrastructure, and $230 million for machinery acquisition.
The facility will cover an area of 250,000 square feet, with projections for it to be operational by April 2023.
Maru Campos, the governor of Chihuahua, stated that this investment marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Jabil and the state.
She also recalled that for the past 20 years, the company has been part of Chihuahua's success story, and the construction of their fifth plant in the region is evidence of that. Ramón Sánchez, Director of Operations at Jabil Chihuahua, explained that the company has a well-established footprint in northern Mexico. He mentioned that the consortium's first plant opened its doors in 2000.
