The Japanese manufacturing company Jatco has announced an investment of 589.6 million pesos for the construction of its new automotive plant in Aguascalientes, known as Jatco II. This investment adds to a total accumulated amount of over 3,000 million pesos since 2019, demonstrating the company's commitment to the region.

The main objective of this new plant is to strengthen automotive industry clusters and stimulate the state economy through an advanced production line. Jatco II will be dedicated to the monthly manufacturing of 27,800 CVT-X transmissions, which will be used in automobiles of renowned international brands such as Nissan

These transmissions, equipped with cutting-edge technology for fuel efficiency and environmental care, will be supplied to various automotive plants, including Nissan. It is also important to highlight that this new project has generated the creation of 100 direct jobs and 400 indirect jobs since February 2022, providing significant employment opportunities to the region.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Governor of Aguascalientes, Martín Orozco Sandoval, visited the Jatco II plant and praised the company's key role as a driver of development and a source of employment for the region. Meanwhile, Tomoaki Inoue, President and CEO of Jatco Mexico, expressed their commitment to achieving established global objectives and goals, emphasizing that the new plant will bring development and well-being to the families of Aguascalientes.

Furthermore, Arai Takafumi, Senior Vice President of Jatco, stated that the new transmission model will be one of the most advanced in the world for combustion vehicles, offering high fuel efficiency. While progress is being made in the electrification of automobiles, Takafumi affirmed that the previous process will remain relevant as long as gasoline vehicles exist. With over 20,500 employees, it is expected that the Jatco II plant will operate at full capacity. It is estimated that this new production line will manufacture 26,800 units per month for export to North America.
