Kawasaki, the Japanese company, has announced plans to expand its manufacturing complex in the state of Nuevo León. This new production space will be added to the engine plant in Monterrey and will complement the work carried out at the facilities of its subsidiary, Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corp. (KMM), located in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The company is investing approximately $265 million in the "off-road" line to meet the growing demand for all-terrain vehicles in North America. As a result, both the Nebraska and Mexico plants will increase their production in the coming year. In addition to manufacturing its renowned engines, the Japanese company's complex in Mexico will also be responsible for vehicle assembly starting from the first quarter of 2023, creating around 550 new jobs.

The company established its facilities in the Interpuerto Monterrey in 2020, covering an area of over 20,000 square meters. The exact size of the new construction to be added to the automotive plant has not yet been communicated.
