Despite the three-month paralysis caused by the pandemic, which affected economic activities, general mobility, and plans, some pressed forward. And by forward, we mean upward. We're talking about Ancore Group, led by Oscar Martinez. In partnership with Pedro de los Santos' Grupo Nest, they officially opened their project, Torres Obispado, widely known as T.OP. in Monterrey.
What's so special about it, you ask? It is the tallest tower in Latin America, featuring a 63-story corporate building standing at a soaring height of 304.8 meters alongside a 45-story residential complex. Although the project was initially scheduled to open last year, its official operation commenced in the second quarter of 2020.
The corporate tower, which houses a Hilton Garden hotel and a Tim Hortons, boasts a notable tenant: WeWork. The shared office space company, spearheaded by Alvaro Villar in Mexico, has acquired nearly 13,000 square meters within T.OP.
Some may consider it a daunting task to introduce approximately 67,000 square meters of office space to the market during a pandemic. However, optimists, such as SiiLA, the real estate platform led by Jose Carlos Aleman, believe that entering the market is better than not doing so.
