With an investment of $800 million, Layer 9 Data Centers has begun construction of its new data center campus in Guanajuato, Mexico.

This project will become the first hyperscale data center in the region and the company's first in the country. The Guanajuato Data Center will be the largest in Mexico, starting with an initial capacity of 64 MW and projected to reach 80 MW.

The investment will be carried out in two stages, and the first phase is expected to be completed by the end of 2023. Michael Ortiz, CEO of Layer 9 Mexico, has mentioned that the data center will be located in the municipality of Apaseo el Grande, within the Amistad Chuy María industrial park, covering an area of approximately 800,000 square feet.

Furthermore, it is anticipated that over 2,000 jobs will be generated in the first phase of the project. Alejandro Cantú, COO of Layer 9 Mexico, has emphasized the project's scale, storage capacity, and energy capabilities.

It will be 64 megawatts, with a total of 100 megawatts, and approximately 800,000 square feet available for rent.
