The government of Mexico City (CDMX) and the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin) have reached an agreement to invest 122 million pesos in the construction of a technological development and data processing center in Azcapotzalco. This project aims to address the technological needs of companies, promote investment, and revitalize the industrial sector throughout the capital. The center will feature laboratories for new materials, industrial applications 4.0, and georeferencing of economic activities. It is expected to be equipped within approximately 15 months, with both the CDMX government and Concamin expressing their willingness to collaborate on more projects of this kind to drive the industry and establish the city as a hub for innovation and manufacturing.

Claudia Sheinbaum, the head of the CDMX government, has expressed her intention to reactivate the industry and work with the private sector to make the city a powerhouse in technological projects. This center marks the beginning of a revitalization and enrichment of the manufacturing industry, positioning the city as one of the most important entities in innovation and technology in the coming years. The government of Azcapotzalco will provide 25 million pesos for the civil work, while 97 million pesos from the CDMX government and Conacyt fund will be allocated for the center's equipment. The project could be ready in approximately 15 months if everything goes as planned.

The mayor of Azcapotzalco, Vidal Llerenas, explained that an investment of 122 million pesos is planned for this space, with the participation of the government, businesses, and universities. In a virtual meeting, he emphasized that the project's objective is for companies to identify and address their needs through this technological center, while promoting investment and reactivation of the industrial sector throughout the capital through digital means. The center will foster 4.0 industrial projects, new applications for the city, and will feature laboratories for new materials and satellite imagery. It will also support technological entrepreneurship, business collaboration, as well as training and certification initiatives.
