The Michelin plant in Querétaro has positioned itself, at the beginning of this year, as the second-best in quality among its 127 complexes distributed worldwide. "And not in Germany, Austria, or France, but here in Querétaro.

That's why we have great confidence in the industry in Mexico and in Querétaro, and that's why investments and projects are coming in the future," said Etienne Ludwig, Director of the Michelin plant in Querétaro, Mexico.

This achievement, he added, has been reached thanks to the results obtained by the plant, the level of competition, and the commitment of its world-class collaborators. In relation to this, Werner Ruess, Director of Government and Institutional Relations at Michelin, explained that this demonstrates that investment can be attracted to Querétaro due to its responsiveness. Recently, Michelin announced an investment of 150 million pesos and the creation of 200 specialized jobs for the first truck tire retreading plant in Mexico and Central America, in addition to expanding its BF Goodrich tire production line.

This second factory in Querétaro is the most modern in the world for truck tires, detailed Ludwig. "We believe in the local Mexican market and we want to offer our products with quality and performance to Mexican consumers. But we also see that the country attracts our customers, such as automakers, so it is important for us to be close to them and be able to supply them," expressed Matthieu Aubron, President and CEO of Michelin Mexico and Central America. Michelin employs 2,000 people in Mexico, of which 550 work at its plant in Querétaro.

According to the company's estimates, for every direct job it generates, between three and four additional indirect positions are created in the state. Ruess explained that Michelin is preparing its long-term operation in the country, not only by increasing its capacity but also by incorporating more technology to support the growth of the market, both nationally and in the United States and Canada.
