The automotive parts and accessories company, MotoDrive, has invested three million pesos (mdp) in a new assembly plant at the Toluca 2000 Industrial Park in the State of Mexico.
The new complex, covering 20,000 square meters under roof and an additional 6,000 square meters in covered areas, has opened its doors. According to the company, this factory has been built for motorcycle production and will generate over 400 jobs.
It has a production capacity of 200,000 units per year, allowing it to meet the demand for the BAJAJ brand.
Within the complex, one of the largest Original Parts Distribution Centers (Cedis) in Latin America is located, storing over 17,000 original
BAJAJ products distributed in Mexico.
MotoDrive plans to expand its operations in the State of Mexico.
The new plant in Toluca features sequenced overhead conveyors on the assembly line, reducing manufacturing time by up to 20% and providing better ergonomics for employees. Additionally, the building has an innovative route assembly system that optimizes the loading of delivery trucks, reducing fuel consumption and delivery times while ensuring damage control and inventory accuracy.
Moreover, the plant includes an area for recycling and reusing packaging materials such as cardboard, iron, and plastic, contributing to environmental sustainability. MotoDrive has implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard to improve its performance.
