Oxxo, the convenience store chain, has inaugurated its first store in Brazil, located in the city of Campinas, north of São Paulo, through Grupo Nós, an alliance between the Brazilian company Raízen and Femsa. The company's expansion plans for the next three years include opening approximately 500 new points of sale, comprising both Shell Select and Oxxo stores, as stated in a press release.

As of the third quarter of 2020, Femsa had a total of 19,633 stores, with 19,373 located in Mexico and the remaining 260 units in South America. Within the past 12 months alone, they have added 793 new branches, according to their financial report. Femsa embarked on its international expansion in 2009, bringing Oxxo to Colombia, and subsequently entered Chile in 2017 and Peru in 2018.

During the third quarter of this year, Oxxo experienced a 6.1% decrease in revenue, with same-store sales declining by 9.1% due to a 22% drop in customer traffic.
