Pikkop, a startup in the logistics industry, is focusing on enhancing the initial stages of the product delivery process, including collection, packaging, and storage. In response to the growing demand for efficient delivery services, Pikkop recognizes the importance of streamlining the "first mile" rather than solely focusing on the "last mile" of the delivery process. According to the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), delivery times rank as the second most significant area for improvement in e-commerce processes, following package quality. Pikkop aims to address this by utilizing technology and best practices to optimize the entire delivery chain.

Ashish Punj, CEO of Pikkop, explains that the inspiration for the company came from identifying untapped potential in the logistics sector. He emphasizes that the true challenge lies in improving the first steps of the delivery process rather than competing with industry giants. Punj's extensive experience in logistics, including international markets, paved the way for the establishment of Pikkop in 2017. The startup began testing cloud-based software in 2018, focusing on business-to-business operations. By 2020, Pikkop had tailored its platform to the Mexican market and introduced a quote generator for order fulfillment, as well as software targeting the "first mile" of the delivery process.

Pikkop's strategy revolves around automating and digitizing various logistics processes, such as package collection, packaging, inventory management, storage, and shipping. The company also prioritizes customer delivery options and invoicing, as these aspects have gained greater significance in the evolving post-pandemic landscape. Despite global logistical pressures, Pikkop views the rising demand for home delivery as an ongoing opportunity. With over 5,000 customers in Mexico, 80% of which engage in business-to-consumer operations, Pikkop successfully managed 200,000 products in 2020, leveraging its two warehouses located in Mexico City and Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico.
