Pirelli, the industrial company, is investing €114 million in expanding its plant in Guanajuato.

Once completed, the facility will serve as a manufacturing hub for tires catering to the local and North American markets. Additionally, a Center for Research, Development, Innovation, and Professional Training will be built on-site, as stated in the press release.

The construction of the plant is expected to take two years and aims to increase production in Mexico. By 2025, when the plant is operational, the goal is to produce 8.5 million tires, a significant increase from the current one million.

The expansion will also create 400 direct jobs, bringing the total workforce to 3,200 employees.  "This plant is one of the most technologically advanced within the Group and will soon house a new Intelligence Center. For the past 10 years, we have maintained a strong belief in Silao and its people," said Marco Tronchetti, Executive Vice President and CEO of Pirelli.
