San Luis Potosi is an important industrial market in the Mexican Bajio, boasting an inventory of nearly 4.6 million square meters. According to SiiLA Market Analytics, over the past three years, industrial space occupancy has increased by 6%, driven by automotive, capital goods, and transportation and logistics companies, which occupy more than 75% of the existing industrial space.

Economic dynamism and technological innovation have become the primary driving forces behind San Luis Potosi's industrial competitiveness. One company that has significantly contributed to the region's expansion and the arrival of new businesses is Zoppas Industries, an Italian manufacturing company specializing in heating systems and technology. Since opening its first plant in San Luis Potosi in 2000, the company has expanded its operations and currently manufactures a wide range of products. These products span various sectors, including household, medical, and commercial applications, as well as automotive, aerospace, and industrial components such as resistors, sensors, and electrical controls.

According to Federico Zoppas, General Manager of Zoppas Industries, San Luis Potosi is a strategic location for developing and expanding engineering and technological innovation capabilities in Mexico, given its competitiveness and attractiveness as a national and international production and distribution center, especially towards the United States, particularly with nearshoring.

Federico Zoppas sees the Mexican Bajio as an important hub for developing new industries, including aerospace, which has gained momentum in recent years. According to SiiLA, since 2020, the industrial space occupied by aerospace companies has increased by 82% nationally, concentrated mainly in Mexico's northern and Bajio regions in industrial markets such as Queretaro, Mexicali, and Tijuana.

For Zoppas Industries, San Luis Potosi is a strategic location for its expansion into the aerospace sector. Its proximity to Queretaro and excellent transportation links to the US market make it an ideal choice. The company aims to capitalize on one of the world's most significant mega-trends, the new space economy, “by transferring and cross-fertilizing technologies between industries, fostering innovation, and creating business opportunities.”

Zoppas Industries' innovation strategy focuses on developing increasingly intricate and sophisticated heating products for specialized and complex medical, space, and aerospace industries. This approach fuels the company's growth and stimulates competition, fostering dynamism in various markets.

In the case of San Luis Potosi, which has established itself as a crucial industrial market, economic dynamism and technological innovation have been made possible by the presence and expansion of leading companies in various sectors.
