The Government of Mexico City, through the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (Seduvi), has proposed converting 12 office buildings into residential units.

This plan is part of the 2022-2024 Economic Reactivation Program and aims to address the housing supply and demand in the city. It also seeks to encourage more developments to join this initiative, supporting urban regeneration and meeting the needs of the real estate market.

It is worth noting that the majority of these future residences will be located in high-income areas. Six of the buildings are situated in exclusive neighborhoods in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, where the apartments can cost up to 32 million pesos. Additionally, there are three more buildings in the Cuauhtémoc borough.
