Yesterday marked a significant milestone as the first stone was laid for the Gate Pacific Industrial Park in Tijuana, Baja California. This ambitious project will span an impressive 60 hectares and is backed by an investment exceeding $200 million. Notably, it will serve as the future home of the new DHL logistics center.

DHL Supply Chain, a global leader in logistics, envisions the Industrial Gate Pacific Park as a game-changer for the region's logistics landscape. This project is part of the company's substantial €500 million investment in Latin America, as recently announced. Its primary goal is to harness the power of nearshoring while bolstering operations with top-notch storage, e-commerce, and product distribution services.

SiiLA had a front-row seat to witness the grand opening of the Industrial Gate Pacific Park. Our colleagues, Alejandro Delgado, Country Manager Mexico at SiiLA, and Carla Gonzalez, Senior Research Analyst at SiiLA, seized the opportunity to engage with influential figures in the real estate industry and gather firsthand insights into this significant Real Estate Investments project.

This new industrial park boasts cutting-edge infrastructure, tailor-made to cater to the needs of the medical devices, automotive, aerospace, e-commerce, technology, and manufacturing sectors. Currently, plans are in motion to accommodate up to 14 tenants.

During the presentation, Raul Arroyo, Managing Director of Real Estate Investments, shared that the Industrial Gate Pacific Park is expected to generate 4,500 direct and 10,000 indirect jobs. In Baja California alone, DHL Supply Chain confirmed the creation of a workforce of 700 individuals.

Furthermore, DHL unveiled details about "El Carrizo," the name given to their new distribution center within the Industrial Gate Pacific Park. These state-of-the-art facilities will expand the company's storage capabilities in the region.

Initially, "El Carrizo" will encompass 20,000 square meters, with plans to expand to 140,000 square meters within the next decade. The facilities will feature 18 loading docks and over 20,000 pallet positions equipped with cutting-edge technology, robotic solutions, and intelligent routing systems.
