Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara are the main markets for Mexico's transportation and logistics industry. According to SiiLA's Market Analytics, Mexico City represents 44% of the square meters dedicated to this industry, Monterrey 14%, and Guadalajara 9%. This is due to their strategic location, infrastructure, and size of the domestic market, which makes them attractive destinations for companies looking to establish themselves in the transportation and logistics sector.

In the transportation and logistics industry in Mexico, there are prominent companies such as DHL, Ryder System, Kuehne + Nagel, Estafeta, and Onest Logistics, which have a significant presence in the market, occupying one-fifth of the square meters dedicated to this industry, according to data from Market Analytics.

While these companies have extensive experience and capacity to provide transportation and logistics services to their clients, it is important to highlight that there are many other companies in the market that also offer innovative and efficient solutions. The diversity of options available to customers in Mexico's transportation and logistics market indicates the strength and dynamism of this industry in the country.

Why do Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara stand out as Mexico's most important transportation and logistics markets? Here are some of the reasons behind their leadership in the industry.

Strategic geographic location, developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, size and dynamism of the domestic market, as well as growing economic development are some of the main reasons why Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara stand out as the main markets for companies dedicated to transportation and logistics in Mexico.

These advantages allow companies to establish themselves in select markets to offer efficient and profitable transportation and logistics services nationally and internationally.

Strategic location: Mexico City is in the center of the country and has a network of roads and highways connecting it with the rest of the Mexican territory. On the other hand, Monterrey is in northeastern Mexico, near the border with the United States, making it a key point for international trade. Guadalajara is in the west of the country, near the port of Manzanillo, making it a gateway for trade with Asia.

Infrastructure: Mexico City has one of the largest airports in Latin America, as well as an extensive network of communications and transportation connected to the entire Mexican Republic. Monterrey has an international airport, a critical railway network, and a toll highway connecting with Altamira's port. Guadalajara also has an international airport and a dry port (in the El Salto Industrial Park area) that allows the interconnection of different means of transportation.

Domestic market: Mexico City is the largest city in Mexico and has a population of over 20 million in its metropolitan area. Monterrey and Guadalajara also have significant populations and are relevant economic centers in the Bajio and Northern regions of the country.

Economic growth: The three cities have experienced strong economic growth in recent decades, generating greater demand for transportation and logistics services. This has attracted many companies seeking to exploit the market's business opportunities.
