At the Toluca 2000 Industrial Park, located in the State of Mexico, MotoDrive has inaugurated a modern assembly plant that spans over 20,000 square meters of interior space, with an additional 6,000 square meters in uncovered areas.

This impressive facility required an initial investment of 3 million Mexican pesos (mdp). With the opening of this new plant, MotoDrive's production capacity will exceed 200,000 units per year, enabling them to meet the growing demand for the BAJAJ brand.

MotoDrive proudly asserts that this motorcycle assembly plant is one of the most advanced in Latin America, generating over 400 jobs in the first few months of operation. With the goal of being closer to their customers, MotoDrive plans to expand its network to include 300 sales points throughout the country by the end of this year. In order to increase operational availability and reliability, as well as the necessary systems and equipment for motorcycle assembly, MotoDrive has implemented programs that contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

These initiatives are supported by methodologies such as Kaizen and various Lean Manufacturing tools, commonly employed by world-class manufacturing companies. In a press release, it was also highlighted that the complex houses one of the largest centers for the distribution of original parts in Latin America.

This center stores over 17,000 original BAJAJ products for distribution in Mexico. Among other notable features, the new MotoDrive plant incorporates sequenced overhead conveyors within the assembly line, reducing assembly time by up to 20% and providing optimal ergonomics for operators. Additionally, the company has adopted a Quality Management System (SGC) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements, which allows for the analysis, review, and improvement of overall performance.

Furthermore, the plant has an advanced routing system that ensures efficient cargo distribution and reduces fuel consumption for delivery trucks. Read the full article in Spanish.
