Walmart de México y Centroamérica is celebrating the inauguration of its 20th Distribution Center (Cedis) in Mexicali, Baja California, just days after announcing the start of construction for its first logistics hub in Tlaxcala. The company invested 986 million pesos in this new complex, which has the capacity to handle around 5 million boxes per month for the supply of Bodega Aurrera, Mi Bodega Aurrera, and Walmart Supercenter stores in Baja California and Sonora.
Spanning over 137,000 square meters of land, the Mexicali Distribution Center will generate more than 700 direct jobs and over 1,000 indirect jobs. With this new addition, Walmart now operates a total of 20 distribution centers in Mexico, enhancing its logistics network, expanding its nationwide coverage, and optimizing its omnichannel strategy. This allows customers to access a wide range of brands and products both in physical stores and online platforms.
