Walmart Supercenter Celebrates the Opening of Its 300th Store in Mexico

  • Walmart de México y Centroamérica inaugurated its 300th store, Walmart Supercenter, in Quintana Roo, which is the first regenerative store in the region.

Walmart de México y Centroamérica celebrated the opening of its 300th store, Walmart Supercenter, located in Macroplaza Petempich in Solidaridad, Quintana Roo. This store is the first in the region to be classified as regenerative, aligning with Walmart's goal to become a Regenerative Company by 2040. Walmart Supercenter Petempich incorporates over 20 regeneration initiatives, including water treatment systems, energy efficiency measures, waste separation, accessibility for people with disabilities, and elements made from recycled plastic. 

Since its arrival in Quintana Roo in 1995, Walmart de México y Centroamérica has invested nearly 5.6 billion pesos, creating over 3,500 permanent direct jobs in the state. Walmart Supercenter Petempich, with an area of approximately 8,500 square meters, offers a wide range of products and services to Quintana Roo residents, enabling them to save money and enhance their quality of life. The store provides both in-store and online shopping options, including self-checkout, home delivery, and pickup services. 

The inauguration was attended by notable figures such as Javier Aranda Pedrero, director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, and Lili Campos Miranda, municipal president of Solidaridad. Representatives from Walmart de México y Centroamérica, including Mariano Fiscella, Vice President of Walmart Supercenter and Walmart Express, and Chantal Hernández, Director of Operations, were also present at the event.
