The creators of the company Luuna have in mind to leverage their experience, which has positioned them as a recognized brand in recent years, and become a group of their own companies. Thus, Zebrands is born.
Luuna knew how to adapt to the current environment and focus on digital channels since its launch. However, its expansion has led the company to have 27 physical stores throughout Mexico.
But the next step is even bigger and riskier. Zebrands plans to launch 34 own brands in the next 18 months. "We want these companies to be born in these digital environments. We will create them from scratch with the aim of achieving sales of over one billion dollars in Mexico, Latin America, and the United States within five years," said Viillegas.
Betting on becoming the next Mexican unicorn, Zebrands' model is inspired by the idea of Thrasio, a company that is acquiring new brands that have emerged on platforms like Amazon and has become a brand aggregator.
It acquires them, develops them, and accelerates their growth. In this way, Thrasio quickly became a unicorn in the United States, leveraging digital channels.
