This week, FINSA announced that three of its properties in the Aguascalientes, Querétaro, and Tijuana markets have received LEED certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). The certification was awarded for environmental and sustainable improvements, mainly related to water and energy savings, the use of sustainable materials, and recycling.

Through its social networks, the industrial park developer stated that "it is proven that LEED-certified buildings improve water and energy efficiency, save money, and create healthier places for their users."

FINSA's three industrial properties obtained LEED Gold BD+C (Building Design and Construction) certification. This recognition is awarded to properties whose design and construction (or major remodeling) generally meet the highest ecological standards.

According to the company, which provides integral real estate solutions for the industrial sector, one of the award-winning properties was Multi-tenant IV in the FINSA Aguascalientes industrial park. This property treats 100% of the water used to irrigate green areas. In addition, the property generates 71% energy savings and 47% savings in water resources, and 55% of the construction materials are recycled and regional (obtained no more than 805 kilometers from the building).

As of the fourth quarter of 2022, the FINSA Aguascalientes industrial park has at least 17 warehouses covering more than 212 thousand square meters, with an occupancy rate of more than 91%, according to SiiLA Market Analytics data.

The Multi-tenant I warehouse at the FINSA Querétaro III industrial park also received LEED Gold BD+C certification. This property uses treated water to rinse all its green areas, is built with regional (58%) and recycled (28%) materials and generates water (42%) and energy (25%) savings.

By the end of 2022, the FINSA Querétaro III industrial park had a fully occupied industrial building with a gross leasable area (GLA) of nearly nine thousand square meters. In addition, there was a warehouse under construction at the end of last year, with an approximate area of more than 27.3 thousand square meters, according to SiiLA.

The third property to be awarded LEED Gold BD+C certification is in the FINSA Otañez industrial park in Baja California. Among the green features of the certified building is the use of treated water (96%) for irrigation of green areas, water (42%) and energy (14%) savings, in addition to being a construction that uses recycled (35%) and regional (26%) materials.

According to Market Analytics, FINSA Otañez industrial park has an approximate GLA of 10.3 thousand square meters and class A properties.

FINSA has 22 industrial parks and 70 locations in Mexico, the United States, and Argentina. According to the company, it is internationally recognized as one of the "most solid and experienced" real estate developers in Mexico's industrial sector, with one of the largest portfolios in Latin America, managing more than 2.6 million square meters under lease and 11.8 million square meters developed.
