Flex Americas will invest $100 million in the Altamira Industrial Port, Tamaulipas, to develop three key projects. The first project is the construction of a new building in 2022, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. This building will serve not only for storage but also for activities like packaging laptop screens. In addition, the investment will include the creation of two coating lines in 2022.

These lines will provide a special coating to the film used in certain customer-requested products. Each line will have an extension of 5,000 square meters. The third project involves the construction of a new production line for Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP), starting in 2023 and occupying an area of 15,000 square meters.

All three projects will be located on the same site where Flex Americas is currently situated in Tamaulipas. With these new facilities, the company will make the most of the 150,000 square meters it owns in the Altamira Industrial Park. This expansion will generate a total of 800 jobs: 500 indirect jobs and 300 direct jobs, as stated by Sergio Gustavo Álvarez Pérez, Director of Administration, Human Resources, and Legal Affairs at Flex Americas. Out of these employees, 330 are unionized, resulting in excellent synergy with the union and high levels of productivity.

The majority of the personnel are professionals with backgrounds in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering. The company prioritizes the well-being of its employees by providing benefits, daily training, and maintaining low employee turnover.Flex Americas is part of the global UFlex group, within the films division.

Currently, the company has two production lines of approximately 15,000 square meters each in its complex located in Altamira. With this significant investment and expansion, Flex Americas reaffirms its commitment to job creation and the development of advanced technologies in the region.
