FUNO Bets on Sustainability in Its Real Estate Portfolio
Amefibra's recent ASG Annual Report highlights that 67% of the FIBRAs in the real estate sector have taken sustainability actions.

Recently, the Mexican Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Amefibra) published the first Annual ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Report 2020. The report highlights that 67% of the 15 Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) in the sector have undertaken various actions in sustainable development.
FIBRA Uno (FUNO) stands out in its Sustainability Report for aligning with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through commitments made with the Global Compact. FUNO aims to have a positive impact on the communities where it operates, provide efficient infrastructure solutions to its clients, and be a world-class company based on international best practices.
In 2020, FUNO conducted 79 social responsibility activities in shopping centers and formed an alliance with a brewing group for the revaluation of food-grade glass in three of its properties. The REIT also planted 6,000 trees in the high mountains of Guerrero and built 35 orchards with a surface area of 25 square meters each. Furthermore, FUNO reports that 32.6% of its office portfolio and 4.2% of its industrial portfolio are LEED certified. The certification process is also underway for Torre Mexicana, Corporativo Punta Santa Fe, Torre Reforma Cuarzo, and Samara.
