There has always been an idea that investing in companies listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) and the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA) requires large amounts of money.
However, nowadays, brokerage firms and investment fund operators have made participation in the stock market highly accessible, whether it's for investing in stocks or Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), known as "FIBRAs" in Mexico.
To directly invest in Real Estate Trust Certificates (CBFIs), which represent the FIBRAs, it is advisable to approach a brokerage firm, open an investment account, and seek assistance from a professional advisor to decide which FIBRA to invest in and determine the investment amount.
Currently, there are 36 brokerage firms authorized by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) to conduct intermediary operations with the investing public. Some of these brokerage firms, such as Casa de Bolsa Punto and Kuspit, provide access to small investors with reduced amounts.
In addition to brokerage firms, financial intermediaries also offer technological platforms called brokers, which facilitate transactions. Through these platforms, it is possible to purchase even a single CBFI, with options that allow transactions starting from 100 pesos, confirming their accessibility.
