Daniel Córdova, President of the Nuevo León Appliances Cluster, announced that Chinese companies are making investments in the state.
Appliance manufacturers, many of them Chinese, will invest $1.165 billion in Nuevo León to regionalize production chains and avoid certain tariffs in their commercial processes with the United States.
"We have a fund of $1.165 billion that we aim to relocate or generate locally in various products such as steel, electrical components, electronics, plastics, and a wide range of services that we always strive to have nearby," stated Daniel Córdova, President of the Nuevo León Appliances Cluster (Clelac).
"Not only have we achieved a record in the investment fund projected by major companies, but for the first time in our history, this fund will exceed one billion dollars," he expressed.
In Mexico, they produce air conditioning and heating equipment, white goods such as washing machines and refrigerators, as well as industrial and commercial refrigeration equipment and appliances.
The Director of Trane Technologies explained that the appliance industry has the opportunity to grow as new companies are constantly entering the market, and there are expansion plans for existing companies.
The growth of businesses and the arrival of new investors create jobs, improve logistics and value chains, and contribute to the development of Nuevo León, affirmed the entrepreneur.
Currently, Mexico is the fifth-largest producer of appliances in the world, with $14.5 billion, as mentioned.
"And out of those $14.5 billion worth of appliances produced in Mexico, at least $4.5 billion is manufactured in Nuevo León," explained
Daniel Córdova. In recent months, significant investments have been announced in Nuevo León.
For example,
Bosch has made a significant commitment, and another company is building a refrigerator plant that will create 1,500 jobs with a $250 million investment.
