NYX Plastics, an American supplier of automotive interiors, will invest $25 million in a new plant in Coahuila, Mexico.
The NYX Plastics plant in the municipality of Arteaga will manufacture vehicle interiors for American companies such as Elon Musk's
Tesla and
General Motors. Although the company already has a presence in the country, specifically in the neighboring state of San Luis Potosí, this new project aims to expand its operations in Mexico and generate 1,200 jobs.
NYX Plastics will be established in the DAVISA industrial park and will have an area of 12,000 square meters, with the possibility of doubling its size in the future. "We are pleased that they are strengthening our Automotive Cluster, of which we are national leaders and it represents an economic strength," mentioned Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, Governor of Coahuila.
The new NYX Plastics plant in Coahuila is expected to be ready in two months and is projected to start operating in early 2022.
More investment in Coahuila
The northeastern state of the country occupies the first place in the manufacturing of transportation equipment and the second place nationwide in exports.
