Popeyes, the renowned fast-food chain specializing in fried chicken, is making a comeback in Mexico City. Founded in 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the company plans to open at least four branches in the capital before the year ends.
In an interview, José Cil, the CEO of Restaurant Brands International, shared that they currently have six locations in Guadalajara, one in Mexico City, and several under construction. Their goal is to reach a total of 10 establishments in the country by the end of the year.
Unlike their previous attempt from 2004 to 2008, this time the project is being led by the successful operator JK Capital, which already operates in Guadalajara.
