Walmart de México y Centroamérica (WALMEX) reported a 12.0% growth in revenues for the second quarter of 2022 (2Q22), reaching 195,619 million pesos (mdp), compared to 174,674 mdp in the same period of 2021. In the January-June cumulative period, it recorded revenues of 383,463 million pesos.
The operating cash flow (EBITDA) reached 20,145 mdp, accounting for 10.3% of total revenues and an 11.1% increase compared to 2Q21, when it obtained 18,137 mdp. The cumulative EBITDA reached 40,868 mdp, representing an 8.7% growth compared to the first six months of 2021, which stood at 37,611 mdp.
Walmart experienced higher sales in the Southeast region of the country, while the groceries and consumables category remained the top-selling, unlike the clothing category.
